Named one of the "10 Most Influential Vietnamese American Women in 2012" by the Vietnamese American Chamber of Commerce of Houston.

The Pride of the Vietnamese

Tammy Tran named “The Pride of the Vietnamese.”  (Trong Minh, Author & Ruth Talovich, Editor, The Pride of the Vietnamese, Selection IV) (T&T Printing CA 1998).

Mayor Robert Lanier of Houston

Tammy Tran named as recipient of Americanism Award as Outstanding Naturalized American Citizen for 1996 from the Daughters of American Revolution. By virtue of this honor, Tran's biography is kept in the national archives in Washington, D.C.

Mistress of Ceremonies

Tammy Tran selected to Serve as Mistress of Ceremonies at the Mayoral Inauguration of Dr. Lee P. Brown. The only Asian/Vietnamese to have ever been selected as Mistress of Ceremonies at a Mayoral Inauguration in Houston, Texas and Channel 2 reported that: “She stole the show.” (1997).
