Co-counsel in Two International Arbitrations against the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

• PCA Case No. 2020-05: Dr. Maya Dangelas, U.S. Global Institute, Inc., and Angels Company, Inc. v. Socialist Republic of Vietnam


• PCA Case No. 2023-06: Dr. Maya Dangelas and Tan Tao Investment & Industry Corporation v. The Socialist Republic of Vietnam

Lead Counsel representing laborers in the International Human Trafficking Case in the United States

Work in this case led to the change of labor laws applicable to U.S. companies that wanted to bring Vietnamese laborers from Vietnam to the United States. 

NATIONAL CASES

• The Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill from 2010 to 2018

Represented thousands of victims in this national catastrophe, as featured in The Atlantic and other national media. 

• *In Re San Jacinto River Dioxin

Represented numerous victims in prosecuting this mass torts litigation.

• *In Re Dietary Supplement

Currently representing numerous Vietnamese-American victims who have suffered losses from taking dietary supplements from the manufacturers. 

• Temple In-land

Represented victims in the Pearl River Spill caused by Temple Inland, Inc. on August 7, 2011. Appointed by the Federal Judge of the Eastern District to serve on the Plaintiffs Steering Committee.

• Texas Shrimp Litigation

Represented thousands of Vietnamese-American shrimpers in the Gulf Coast who successfully challenged proposed state regulations that would reduce shrimpers’ ability to shrimp along the Texas coast.

• Fen-Phen Litigation

Represented hundreds of Vietnamese-American claimants who were injured by diet drugs.

• Sherman Bus Crash Litigation

Representing 54 claimants—passengers and family members of passengers—who were injured in a 2008 bus crash that claimed 18 lives and left the remaining 38 passengers with critical injuries.

• Pharmaceutical Litigation

Paxil: Representing for mothers whose children have birth defects as a result of anti-depressants such as Paxil, Xanax, and Zoloft taken during pregnancy.

• BP Claims and Barratry Victims

Lead Counsel for 439 victims in re Mikal Watts for barratry, arising from BP claims, which is pending in the 55thJudicial District Court of Harris County, Texas. 

• Harvey Insurance Victims

Representing numerous business owners and homeowners in flood insurance and federal claims which are pending in Federal Court. 

• Vietnamese-American Nail Hair Facial Association

Currently serving as Co-Chair of the Vietnamese-American Nail Hair Facial Association, representing over 2,000 Vietnamese-American cosmetologists on a pro bono basis.
